The late Edward Hamshar believed this photo of a community picnic was taken by C.W. Herr sometime after 1913, the year Hamshar was born, as he thought he was one of the small children in the picture. He didn’t know the occasion, but believed the site of the picnic was somewhere in the Sanborn Creek area, known to most people today as the Hamshar-Bailey district off Eastside Road at Priest River.
